Most people treat themselves to a lie in on their birthdays but not Martin Lewis. Hard at work as ever, The Money Saving Expert was up bright and early this morning (May 9) to present Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid.
His co-host took the opportunity to wish him many happy returns live on air. With the clock reading 6.02am Susanna said: "It's an extraordinary day for you to be here because it is in fact your birthday."
Martin replied: "Thank you for reminding me straight away." Susanna added: "We're giving you the gift of being live on television at six o'clock in the morning."
But how old is Martin today? "Are you forty?" guessed Susanna. "Not quite forty," winced Martin adding: "Add another decade on and we're there. It's a big one today. I can't quite cope with it. I've got my glasses to prove I've got to the age. The grey is going in the hair and in the eyebrows."
Viewers on Twitter were quick to wish the Money Saving Expert a happy birthday with @LeedsMoneyBuddy saying:" Good Morning Martin. Happy 50th Birthday today - we hope you have a lovely day today, even though you're working."
While @RachieGreene excitedly tweeted: "just found out i have the same birthday as Martin Lewis." Martin Lewis has worked tirelessly to help find tips and tricks to save money as the cost of living crisis deepens in the UK.
