Martin Keown explains why he 'fears' for Leeds United in relegation battle

Leeds United have a run of difficult games coming as they look to attempt to finish above Everton and Burnley in the Premier League relegation battle. That tough run of fixtures, coupled with Everton beating Chelsea last weekend and Burnley hitting their best run of form all season has put the Whites in danger of dropping back to the Championship.

Former Arsenal and England defender, Martin Keown has explained that Leeds' upcoming opponents are why he 'fears' for Leeds. Speaking on BBC's Football Focus, Keown said: "I now fear for Leeds and I thought they’d done enough to scramble clear after they won 3-2 at Wolves.

"I look at their fixtures now and they’ve got Arsenal away, Chelsea - that is a tough game - and Brighton. Really tough for them. I think their fixtures are a little bit more difficult than the rest, perhaps."

With Arsenal and Chelsea up next, Leeds face their final two fixtures against Top Six sides this season. Under Marcelo Bielsa, they lost every single one of the other games against Top Six sides in 2021/22 and they were beaten 4-0 by Manchester City last weekend, despite now being under the management of Jesse Marsch.

They may now be forced to do something they haven't managed all season by taking points from their next two fixtures, in order to put pressure back on Everton and Burnley in the final two games of the season.
