Martin Compston trains with Scotland team ahead of Poland friendly clash

Scottish actor Martin Compston swapped TV sets for spot-kicks as he fired penalties past Scotland's number one Craig Gordon ahead of tonight's friendly clash with Poland at Hampden.

The Line of Duty star posted a video on Twitter showing him joking around with the Scotland squad as tested the Heart of Midlothian keeper from the penalty spot.

The 37-year-old tweeted: "Just getting big Craig Gordon’s bad ones out the way for him before tonight @ScotlandNT vs Poland £10 from each ticket going to @UNICEF_uk efforts to help children in Ukraine. Hope to see you there, we’ll be coming..."

In the video, Martin can be heard saying some cheeky one-liners to the Hearts goalie as he fired a penalty into the bottom left corner, joking: "Bye-bye Craig!"

As he then struck one into the bottom-right, sending Craig to the left, he said: "Not again?"

Craig Gordon was all about enjoying the fun as he got up smiling, shouting 'Cut!' as Martin ran away laughing at the goalkeeper's misfortune.

The Scotland National Team also posted a longer version of the video on Twitter, titled 'Compston VS The Keepers', as Martin took on not only Craig Gordon, but St Johnstone's Zander Clark and Motherwell's Liam Kelly to boot.

They tweeted: "We had a special guest at training this week, as @martin_compston took on Craig Gordon, @liamm_kelly and @Zanderr1 in a spot-kick challenge. It's Compston v the 'keepers!"

Martin quote tweeted the video with: "Privilege lads! Thanks for having me."

The ITV Our House star was as cool as you like as he slotted penalties past all three 'keepers, as they all saved one each - with Martin saying he 'let' Gordon snatch a victory right at the end!

Fans of the video commented under Martin's tweet, with one writing: "This was the best fun to watch . Can u put a few in for us on the 12th June . I promise @Team_Compston will go wild on the touchline!"

Another wrote: "great touch BTW, we'll get u on the bench for your first cap brought on for the last 15mins to spare."

And a third wrote: "You’ve still got it Martin! Good luck for tonight x"

Scotland men's national team take on Poland in a friendly clash tonight, in aid of Ukraine, with £10 of each ticket heading to UNICEF to send aid to the war-torn country.
