Martin Compston hits out at his Our House cast mates for being 'too tall'

Martin Compston has said that he's fed up playing roles alongside actors who are much taller than him.

The Line of Duty actor is 5ft 8inches, making him the same height as Simon Cowell, Ed Sheeran and James Corden.

The 37-year-old will be back on our screens next week in his TV drama Our House, where he stars alongside Spooks hunk Rupert Penry Jones.

But Martin revealed that there was one big problem while working with Rupert.

He told Daily Star: "My only problem is that he is so tall.

"It seems that any actor playing a character I have a grievance with and have to fight on set is always over six feet two."

But despite the height differences, Martin (who plays family man Bram Lawson) said he is looking forward to the new thriller airing on ITV on March 7.

Martin Compston & Tuppence Middleton star as estranged husband and wife Fi and Bram Lawson (ITV)

In the series, Martin's character Bram cheats on his wife Fi (Tuppence Middleton), causing them to split up.

Rupert then comes home one day and finds complete strangers living in their home, claiming it is theirs.

Speaking about the drama, Martin said: "You get to the end of one episode and you are desperate for the next.

"It gives people something to talk about. It is built for that watercooler mentality. It is very exciting telly."

Martin is best known for playing Steve Arnott in BBC's cop drama Line of Duty.
