Martin Compston disguised as clown in Glasgow as Line of Duty star hits popular bar

Martin Compston and Gordon Smart hit one of Glasgow's most popular rooftop bars - dressed in a clown and wolf mask respectively.

Line of Duty star Martin and broadcaster Gordon shared a hilarious clip from the lift leading up to VEGA in the city centre on Friday. In the video, shared on TikTok, the famous pals donned the unique headgear for a dance party in the famous, light-up elevator.

Showing off their best moves, Martin, 38, and 42-year-old Gordon took full advantage of having the disco lights and tunes to themselves as they made their way to the sky-high hangout. Greenock-born Martin once labelled himself as “chicken wing daft” so the BAFTA Award winning actor tested out his tolerance of VEGA'S spicy wings before heading off with Gordon to record the newest episode of the pair's podcast, Restless Natives.

Named after Scottish cult classic movie, Martin and Gordon, from Kinross, model themselves after the film’s The Clown and The Wolfman characters. The weekly podcast is an exploration of the Scottish stars’ friendship, families and the lives they lead between London, Scotland and Las Vegas, and will see the duo recount some of their most famous adventures whilst planning many more.

Glasgow Live previously reported that a new BBC Scotland drama starring Martin is set to begin filming in Glasgow. Mayflies will see the Vigil star join up with fellow Scottish actors Tony Curran (Your Honour, Outlaw King, Doctor Who) and Ashley Jensen (After Life, Extras).

Set and filmed in Scotland, Mayflies is a co-commission with BBC Scotland and will be made by the BAFTA Award-winning Synchronicity Films (The Cry) for the BBC, adapted by Andrea Gibb (Elizabeth Is Missing) from Andrew O’Hagan’s acclaimed coming-of-age novel of the same name, and directed by Peter Mackie Burns (Rialto).

Filming of the new series is expected to commence this coming Sunday in the Calton area of Glasgow, with production crews also descending on the Trongate, Gallowgate, Bridgeton and Springburn to shoot scenes, before heading to Ayrshire.
