Hibs have suffered a major blow with the news Martin Boyle will be OUT for the rest of the season.
The Easter Road attacker has underwent surgery on his knee after coming off injured against St Mirren in October. He was selected for the Australia World Cup squad and travelled to Qatar but further scans revealed a pre-existing rupture ACL which required the frontman to go under the knife. He's now in the recovery process after having an op.
Hibs boss Lee Johnson says it is up to the club to rally around the 29-year-old and offer all the support he needs throughout his recovery. He's described the news as 'a big blow' but the club will do all they can to make sure he returns fitter, stronger and a better player than he was before, just like team-mate Kevin Nisbet.

A club statement read: "The club can confirm that Martin Boyle will miss the rest of the 2022/23 season after undergoing surgery on his knee.
"The Hibs forward came off injured against St Mirren in late October with a suspected meniscus injury.
"Boyle was selected for the Australia World Cup squad and travelled with the team to Qatar to monitor his injury.
"Unfortunately, further scans revealed a pre-existing ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which required surgery.
"Boyle has since undergone surgery in Qatar and has begun his rehabilitation process."
Johnson added: “It has been a tough few weeks for Martin and we are all gutted for him.
“Now, it’s up to us to rally around him and make sure we support him on every level throughout his recovery.
“Short term – it is a big blow for us, but we will do everything we can to support Martin to make sure he comes back fitter, stronger and a better player than before, just like Kevin Nisbet has shown in his recovery.”
