Martin Boyle has joined up with his Australia team-mates as Lee Johnson explained his decision behind letting the Hibs star jet out.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 'Chief Vibes Officer' will join up with his Socceroos team-mates for the double-header with Ecuador. The Easter Road star, who missed the finals with Graham Arnold's side reaching the knockout stages before elimination to Lionel Messi and eventual winners Argentina, has been out of action since October last year.
The Hibs attacker has been going through his rehab with the capital club as they bid to have him back fit and firing on his return. But for the next week he will join up with the national team medical staff with club boss Johnson stating a change of scenery will do his mindset the world of good with his recovery well on track.

An update from the Hibs boss via the Australia national team website read: “We are really pleased with how Martin has been progressing over the last few months and he is well on track with his rehabilitation and recovery.
“The last few months have been difficult for him, but he has been working really hard to make sure he gets back to full fitness as quickly as he can.
“When you are out injured for a long period of time, it can be a lonely place as a footballer. This is a good opportunity for Boyler to go out to Australia, link up with his international team-mates and receive some of the best medical care in a new environment.
“The change of scenery will be good for his mindset, and I’m sure he will come back revitalised when we welcome him back in a week’s time."
The first clash with Ecuador takes place on Friday, 24 March at the CommBank Stadium in Sydney with the second game four days later at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
