Martha Stewart's new cooking show guarantees high drama in the kitchen – here's everything we know ahead of its release

Martha Stewart.

'Kitchens are like a pressure cooker,' Martha Stewart states in the trailer for her new cooking show, Yes, Chef! 'These chefs are divas.' Back-to-back clips then demonstrate this 'diva' behavior as chefs yell and throw things around the kitchen.

Mark your calendars: fusing high drama with culinary excellence, Martha's new show is a cooking competition co-hosted by Emmy-award winning chef, José Andrés, and it's coming to our TV screens on April 28.

The series will put 12 professional chefs who have been nominated by their bosses, co-workers, friends, and family through a variety of cooking challenges, with Martha and José guiding them. The twist? The show combines technical skill with personal transformation, as these big personalities aim to navigate even bigger emotions in a quest to take home the $250,000 grand prize.

Martha has hosted several cooking shows before, including Martha Stewart Living, The Martha Stewart Show, and Martha Stewart's Cooking School. Meanwhile, José is the founder of World Central Kitchen and owns over 30 restaurants globally. According to the press release, the duo will lead 'with humor and tough love' as they shepherd the contestants through the challenges.

Since the goal of this series is to cool down the chef's tempers, Martha and José round out the trailer, commenting that if the chefs don't get their act together, 'they're toast,' which Martha emphasizes while wielding a blow torch, naturally.

The show comes from Magical Elves, the Emmy Award-winning producers of Top Chef, so we can expect high-stakes challenges and cutthroat cooking. The contestants have yet to be announced, but we are eager to see who will be participating in this make-or-break series.

Yes, Chef! premieres Monday, April 28, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
