Martha Stewart designed the perfect neutral accent chair and it's hidden on Wayfair (with 50% off) – it's the ultimate living room must-have

Martha Stewart.

Every time we discover a product that holds Martha Stewart's name, we can trust it's designed to last – both in its physical longevity and its ability to transcend design trends. However, of all the hundreds of Stewart-designed products we have written about, her cream accent chair is perhaps the most beautiful (and versatile).

The Osborne 360 Degree Upholstered Swivel Chair (available from Wayfair) is a jewel in the crown of Martha Stewart's collections. Upholstered in a rich cream fabric, this swivel chair is neutral enough to work in every kind of living room (or bedroom, if your space allows). If you're aiming for a minimalist living room, you can ensure styling around the chair is pared-back – with a subtly patterned cushion and an indoor plant. Meanwhile, maximalists can use it as a base point, perfect for layering with vibrantly printed textures, alongside chintz wallpapers and ornate rugs (the latter of which, Stewart has also happened to design).

Believe or not, it's hidden on Wayfair, and is currently nearly half price in the President's Day sales, so if there's ever a time to make the (safe) investment, it's now.

To elevate the space around your neutral accent chair, Hannah Connellan, the lead designer at Revival by Design reminds us that layering is key.

'Visual and physical texture can really add depth and warmth so think about multiple rugs around the space. This includes throw cushions in varying sizes, textures, and patterns, adding in wall coverings such as a patterned wallpaper or seagrass,' Connellan explains.

When it comes to accessorizing, the designer recommends choosing a neutral vase with a simple stem of eucalyptus, 'or add height or white hydrangeas that bring a wonderful freshness to a neutral scheme.

'Dried flowers and grasses also look wonderful when incorporated with a tonal scheme,' she adds.

'With the cushions and throws – every room needs these; they add a wonderful layering quality. Layering cushions in different sizes with different patterns and textures looks less formal than cushions in all the same size, print and fabric. Throws add further cosiness and can often break up expanses of block color.'

We've rounded our favorite accessories that are guaranteed to elevate your chair (or sofa). They're all designed Kelly Clarkson, and also happen to be on sale via Wayfair now.
