Spring cleaning is in full swing, with the official start of the season only days away, and with that, we are looking for ways to spruce up our homes. Leave it to Martha Stewart to give us some ideas via her Instagram page, which is an endless fountain of home knowledge.
Her latest tip comes in the form of glassware organization. Specifically, Martha has color-coordinated her glasses on shelves, which function as decorative elements as well as dining and entertaining essentials. Needless to say, it's a smart and simple spring cleaning tip.
'Spring cleaning has begun at the farm,' Martha states in the caption of her Instagram post, which showcases the colored and clear glasses. 'Glassware, plates, and platters are organized for the season of entertaining. Outside, my crew is raking the garden beds, cleaning the windows, and retouching the stable walls with fresh paint.'

These elegant wine glasses are seasonally appropriate in their beautiful, green hue, but can easily be used all year round. We love the elongated stem and sturdy base.
These two-tone glasses are stunning in shape and color, and come in a set of 4. They act just as much as decor as they do drinking vessels.
Add some pattern to your shelves for spring with this bold, striped tumbler, which is as beautiful as it is practical.
We've seen color coordination as a bookshelf organizing staple; however, in a kitchen or dining space, arranging glassware by color can be a fantastic way to draw visual interest to an area of a room.
We can see that Martha has arranged her glasses with amber and orange tones on a bottom shelf, blues and greens on a middle shelf, and plain glasses on top. However, she has opted to vary the sizes, which makes the organization feel less uniform and more intriguing to look at.
The glasses include martini glasses, wine glasses, and even tumblers, with each silhouette providing contrast against the next.
'Down in my Winter House basement, lots of organizing is going on to get all my glasses, plates, platters, etc. ready for the season’s gatherings,' Martha states on her blog.
To tap into a more dopamine decor-esque trend, try mixing the colored glasses together to create a bold and bright display. Alternatively, opt for only clear glassware but arrange in descending height for a uniform look.
In addition to any deep cleaning you are conducting, organizing and displaying glassware is a fantastic way to both brighten your space and make it look tidy (as well as prepared for guests).
