Leeds United have reportedly been beaten to the punch as Angers SCO have agreed a deal with fellow Ligue 1 side Marseille worth €10million (£8.7m) for Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi.
The 22-year-old has been the main talking point for Whites fans across the whole of the January transfer window but now as it nears its closing, it appears as though Ounahi has found himself a new home - and it's not Elland Road.
According to French outlet RMC Sport, Marseille will secure the Moroccan's services on a four-and-a-half-year deal, with the two sides reaching an agreement far below what was originally thought to be the price to beat of €25m (£21m) submitted by the Whites.
Priorities at Leeds seemed to have shifted in recent weeks on the transfer front however, with manager Jesse Marsch more focused on bringing in talent in other areas.
The Yorkshire club have already signed defender Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg and frontman Georginio Rutter from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim and look set on signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in the final days of the window.
