A married Premier League and England footballer cheated on his wife with an Instagram influencer and then paid her a large sum of money to keep quiet about their affair, according to a report.
The Daily Mail has alleged the unnamed player gave the woman £20,000 in 'hush money' after she discovered she was pregnant with his child, before having a subsequent abortion. After the procedure, which took place in a clinic in London, the pair were then said to have ended their relationship.
The international in question was said to have begun sending the social media star, who has more than 100,000 Instagram followers, private messages after being impressed by her online posts. They then allegedly went on a date together before starting a relationship in January 2019.
During their first meeting, reportedly they visited Platinum Lace strip club in London’s Leicester Square and then stayed the night in a hotel in Mayfair. Aware of potential photographers, it is alleged the star wore a hat and pulled a top over his face so he could not be recognised.
Furthermore, the women was also reportedly invited to the man's home for when his wife and children were out of the house. But the relationship took a turn in 2021 when she informed him by phone that she had fallen pregnant with his child.
However, the Daily Mail also alleged that two months later, the player arranged for £20,000 to be paid to to the woman. She reportedly accepted the offer and agreed to stay silent about their affair.
In the report, a source was quoted as saying: "He is married and has children and he was clearly scared about how it would affect his family if it all ever came out. He has been smart paying her off as she can never reveal his name.
"She got £20,000 which isn’t going to hurt him when you think about how much these guys earn every week. Meeting young women on things like Instagram and SnapChat is the usual way for these rich young footballers who know many women would get starry eyed that a famous person has contacted them."
