Sophie Brown, who starred in the latest series of Married at First Sight UK, has left her high-up job at Manchester technology and retail giant, THG.

Ms Brown, who appeared on the popular E4 show last year, had been global head of channel at THG Ingenuity Cloud Services since April 2022.

She first joined the group in May 2021 having previously worked for LEAP Legal Software UK and UKFast in Manchester.

Writing on LinkedIn, Ms Brown said: "Having spent the last two years at THG I’ve decided the time has come to part ways.

"I am very grateful for the journey and experience I’ve gained. Helping build out their channel offering and moving into the head of partnerships role.

"I have a new direction to go in which includes some really exciting projects and freelance work, having worked over eight years in full time work it feels amazing to be at a point to monetise my own skills and diversify my career.

"I am excited to continue sharing knowledge and make an impact when it comes to women in tech and helping the next generation of leaders, watch this space.

"In the interim, I am honoured to be working alongside Tech Nation until the end of March as their scaleup engagement manager for the North West (start-ups and founders get in touch I would love to offer any support and access to an incredible network of contacts)."

In January, BusinessLive reported that Tech Nation is to close down at the end of March after the government withdrew its funding and handed the £12m to Barclays.

The start-up network, which has operations across the country, will close for good on March 31.

Tech Nation was set up by the coalition government in 2010 and employs around 100 people.
