Married At First Sight UK star Chanita Stephenson has opened up about how the couples on the E4 show manage to keep their relationship a secret after filming wraps.
Married At First Sight has returned for another explosive series with a longer run of 30 episodes, but a number of the couples have already decided to leave the experiment.
The first episodes saw the batch of adventurous singles prepare to walk down the aisle and meet their new spouse.
After the couples say ‘I do’ the E4 bosses ask its brides and grooms to keep their relationship under wraps while the show airs in order to avoid spoilers.
Social worker Chanita, 29, tied the knot with account manager Jordan Emmett-Connelly, 29, and their romance has been going from strength to strength, despite some bumps along the way.
Chanita has now spoken about how the couples have to keep their relationship very private and away from social media until the series ends.
A fan asked the Derby-based contestant how they remain undercover, to which she explained on her Instagram stories: “You've basically got a secret relationship, you're not allowed to post each other, it's very on the down-low.
“The same with the friendships you make as well, so many dirty little secrets.
“We are limited, we aren't allowed to give any spoilers away, that's why I'm very tight-lipped.”
Chanita also hinted that some of her co-stars were ‘fake’, as she said: “Me myself I wasn't, I'm very true to myself, what you see is what you get.
“But yeah maybe possibly some other people have been fake. As viewers you'll probably pick that up yourselves.”
There has been plenty of drama so far during this series – both onscreen and away from the cameras.
Most recently, MAFS UK’s Thomas Hartley swiped at his co-star April Banbury after this week’s explosive dinner party episode.
Thomas accused April of being a ‘liar’ at the show's second dinner party on Tuesday night after she apparently told Chanita he had been ‘s*****g’ her off.
Following the broadcast of the episode on Tuesday evening, Thomas shared a photo on Instagram of a snake wrapped around his neck and captioned it: “I love snakes. I mean, look at my face,” in an apparent swipe at his co-star.
April wasn't in attendance at the dinner party to defend herself as she had skipped the event due to illness, but Thomas spoke about the winner Miss Great Britain in 2019 to the cameras, saying: “You can stand up and say you want World Peace but at the end of the day, you're still a f**king liar!”
