Married at First Sight's drama just keeps going with explosive arguments, storm-outs and affairs, now groom Thomas Hartley has revealed on his Twitter that he's received death threats after the latest episode aired, on Wednesday, October 5, when he said he didn't care about '90%' of the other people on the show.
Thomas, who is married to a perpetually exhausted-looking Adrian Sanderson, admitted on his social media that he'd 'made a mistake' on the latest show but the backlash he got was unwarranted. Thomas wrote: "Ok. I made a mistake and I hold my hands up totally, however sending death threats isn’t warranted."
Viewers of Married at First Sight saw yet another argument between participants as the girls from the show had a night out, with Thomas joining them. The group were chatting about their homestays and it seemed Whitney Hughes, who cheated on her show husband, Duka Cav, with Matt Murray, was in the firing line from Thomas this time. Liverpudlian Thomas told the group: ‘I couldn’t give a f**k about 90%s of yous.’
Turning his attention to Whitney, he said: "I don’t care what you say to me. You’re a liar and an adulterer." He went on to call her a fraud adding: "You’re a basic b***h and that’s all you’ll ever be."
Bride Kasia was trying to keep the piece but Thomas stormed out of the room, asking for a car to take him home. Speaking to the camera in a confessional, April Banbury, who has also argued with Thomas, said she was "past the point of feeling hurt and upset".
Thomas didn't expand on what had been said to him in response to the latest episode, but fans rushed to his defence in his timeline, with one saying: "Everyone makes mistakes Thomas… we are all only human… if you can hold your hands up … thats growth.. and boy have you grown before everyone’s eyes. It’s a blip. Move forward and let it be a lesson in life take no notice of the negativity." Another added: "You absolutely made the entire series for me! Hilarious, honest and stuck up for yourself! Ignore them."
Married At First Sigjht UK continues on E4 on Thursday at 9pm.
