Adrian Sanderson looks completely different to the last time viewers saw him on Married at First Sight UK last year as he ditched his trademark locks that saw his now ex-husband Thomas Hartley compare him to H from Steps on their wedding day.
The pair's rollercoaster relationship on the E4 marriage experiment show, which sees strangers get married as soon as they meet each other for the first time after being matched by the experts, saw Thomas say: "Captain Curtains can f**k off" after an argument.
But now, Adrian has opened up on his decision to have a hair transplant to fix one of his "biggest insecurities". Despite Adrian’s 90’s boyband hairstyle gaining a ton of attention on the show, little did viewers know there was a very real reason behind his iconic curtains.

While he didn't talk about it at the time of appearing on the show, Adrian has shared how he's undergone the hair transplant procedure in the hopes of fixing his receding hairline.
After a lot of research, the procedure took place in the hands of leading hair transplant surgeon Dr Matee Rajputt at KSL's Manchester clinic, whose previous celebrity clients have included I’m a Celebrity's Jake Quickenden, and consisted of 2100 hair follicle grafts.
Adrian, from Manchester, is now three weeks post-op and will soon start a course of PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment to support his newly transplanted hairline. PRP uses our own blood plasma to help promote hair growth and became a popular treatment following Kim Kardashian's famous vampire facial.
This will speed up the hair transplant process which usually takes around 12 to 18 months before seeing the final results and will ensure the best results possible for Adrian’s procedure.
Speaking about his decision to have the hair transplant procedure, Adrian said: "The reason I had curtains on Married at First Sight is because they were hiding my receding hairline. I pull them down so I’m not exposing the hairline at certain angles.”
"A lot of people may think ‘why is he getting a hair transplant?’ I’m a person generally considered to have a good head of hair. But I do style for that, to conceal those receding areas. My hair is my security blanket, and I would like to maintain that. It’s been one of my biggest insecurities."
He added: "I definitely felt nervous during the procedure, mostly for the injections at the beginning, but other than that I enjoyed a day of lying down, watching TV and winding up the nurses. I would love to be able to stye my hair wet, in a slicked-back classic gents look, but I’ve not been able to do that because of the receding.
"We all love to be in control of our own Instagram’s and our own TikTok’s – we’re able to choose and control the photos we share online. But being in the public eye, unfortunately I’m not always the person that chooses them, or even necessarily knows they’re being taken, so that’s made me much more conscious of my hairline."
Adrian’s hair transplant procedure was carried out at KSL Clinic in Manchester.
