Married at First Sight relationship expert Charlene Douglas hits out at 'inappropriate' messages from men

Relationship expert Charlene Douglas is used to sorting out problems in other people's relationships and is best known for helping the brides and grooms on E4's Married at First Sight navigate their at times very tricky marriages. Now she has hit back at "inappropriate" messages she has been receiving from men on Instagram.

Posting to her Instagram story Charlene issued a strong statement. She said: "Dear MARRIED MEN! Respectively please STOP messaging me under the disguise of "I'm interested in what you do!" I don't need daily morning 'hellos' - Please greet your wives instead! #inappropriatebehaviour #respectyourpartnerplease #notthatkindaqueen"

Charlene is expected to be joining fellow relationship experts Mel Schilling and Paul C Brunson for the 2023 series of Married at First Sight, helping a host of new brides and grooms wanting to find love. Recently Mel teased that the 2023 series, which will air on E4, is on "a different level". You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.

Mel spoke about Married at First Sight while appearing on This Morning where she was interviewed by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. Alison asked: "What about the UK version? Is that coming back?" Mel responded: "Yes. We are filming it right now." "How's it going?" Alison queried, to which Mel said with glee: "Incredible! I cannot say anything yet. It's incredible. It's a different level."

Dermot then asked why she thought we Brits love the Australian version so much and why it's the 'biggest [series] in the world'. "I think, for Brits, the fact that our season 6 played here during the lockdown was an incredible experience. So many people say to me 'Your show got me through lockdown'. And people became very invested."
