Married At First Sight groom storms off sickened by bride's explicit sexual remarks

Following an explosive row, a Married At First Sight UK groom has revealed he was "ready to walk away".

Barber Matt and hair salon owner Gemma stunned viewers on Monday night when they were seen engaging in a bitter dispute, just minutes after being introduced as new arrivals to the 2022 series.

They appeared to be the perfect match, but things quickly went sour on the honeymoon.

Viewers saw the couple arrive in Lisbon before finding themselves in a heated exchange that saw Matt storm out of a restaurant.

The newlyweds fell out after Gemma made a sexual remark while the pair were enjoying drinks.

She spent the wedding reception doing the same, and Matt reached his breaking point.

Explaining how it made him feel, Matt told her: "You are sexually pushing me away. It makes me go in on myself. I don't know what it is but for me it shuts me off."

The hit programme then fast-forwards to the following day with a teary Gemma explaining Matt had stormed out of dinner.

She told the cameras: "I don't even know how it happened. We ended up having a really big argument."

Matt was then seen sharing: "I had to walk away. I couldn't handle that situation anymore. Everyone's capable of filthy banter, a bit of a joke. Gemma takes it to a whole new level."

The couple were later seen meeting for coffee. Gemma was seen explaining she wanted to learn from the disagreement and move on.

She asked Matt if he wanted to stay married and he responded: "I was ready to walk away last night."

After a long chat, Matt said: "I do want to move forward, I do want to see if there's a possibility to fix this." Gemma agreed, adding: "Hopefully we can make it work.”

Married At First Sight UK continues on E4 on Tuesday at 9pm.
