Married At First Sight Australia: Viewers fume as they all say the same thing about groom Harrison

Viewers have been left raging after watching the "toxic" behaviour of one of the grooms on Married At First Sight Australia, which aired on E4 on Wednesday, April 12 - with one of the brides blaming him for causing a rift between her and her new husband by deliberately sharing misinformation.

During tonight's episode, the remaining couples enjoyed the last few days of their couples' retreat in the Australian countryside. But whilst most of the newlyweds enjoyed their Boys Night and Girls Night respectively, one groom decided it was the perfect moment to offload what he truly thought about one of the brides. Harrison - who is married to Bronte - decided to tell fellow groom, Layton, that he thought his rocky relationship with fiery wife Melinda was toxic.

He said: "I hope you can appreciate that I'm willing to risk offending you in order to be [honest]. From what I see some of the behaviour you've described to me from Melinda definitely fits the bill of a toxic relationship. I want to see you in a happy and healthy relationship. And what you're describing to me doesn't sound that.... it just seems really fake."

In response, Layton said Harrison was "wrong" and said he found his views "offensive". Unfortunately, the pair's conversation wasn't kept quiet - Melinda and her pal Evelyn heard plenty as they eavesdropped.

When it came to light that Melinda and Evelyn had been spying on the boys' conversation, Layton was seen getting upset at the apparent invasion of privacy which caused friction between the pair. But it wasn't this disapproval viewers were angry about - instead, viewers have expressed their anger at Harrison's interference and purposeful misinformation he later gave his wife.

The morning after the boys' discussion, Harrison was seen relaying back to Bronte what the boys' conversation had been the previous night - but his version wasn't entirely correct. Fabricating the truth, Harrison said that Layton had told him his and Melinda's relationship was 'not in a happy or healthy place' - something that had not been said.

Speaking with Melinda later that day, Bronte explained how her partner had informed her of this, adding that Harrison had said Layton and Melinda's marriage "isn't good" and "is not going in a good direction."

This misinformation was later brought up during the evening's dinner soiree on the couples' last night of the retreat, where Melinda and Layton confronted Harrison on the rumour he had started.

"Today, Mel had a chat with Bronte and was a bit upset about that, that something might have been said," Layton said. "Maybe coming from Harrison. So where is that coming from? What did you say to Bronte?"

Looking rather sheepish, Harrison replied: "Well that's a fair question. Uhh."

"Are you saying something behind my back? Are you saying the right thing?" Layton interrupted, tensely: "What was said in that conversation?"

Querying this tension, Bronte asked Harrison: "Yeah, did you not say that things aren't ok? Is that what happened?"

"I can't.. I genuinely don't remember," Harrison told her, before murmuring to Bronte: "I wish you hadn't have said that."

After Bronte apologised to her partner for telling Melinda what they'd discussed privately, viewers took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on Harrison and his deceptive behaviour.

"Melinda he’s lying and manipulating the situation, Layton and Brontë. Harrison is so toxic, why does he want to destroy everyone’s relationships #MAFSAU," wrote one, while another, @AGBridle added: "Harrison does not look comfortable and looks seriously nervous when he's confronted. And I love IT."

@auntlelee also penned: "Brontë Brontë Brontë open ur eyes Harrison is so full of BS and is gaslighting u . That man #MAFSAU #Harrison #Bronte" While viewer @ZoeTheHunna added: "Harrison always looks so proud when he stirs the pot, I swear he’s only on here for a laugh with his mates back home to go and cause as much drama as possible #MAFSAU".

@LalaPryce also said: "Harrison may be the greatest #MAFSAU villain of all time."

Married At First Sight Australia continues tomorrow night on E4 at 7.30pm.
