One of the biggest moves the Arizona Cardinals made this offseason was their draft-day trade for receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. They gave up their first-round selection to the Baltimore Ravens, their opponent this weekend, for Brown and a third-round pick, which they used to select pass rusher Myjai Sanders.
Brown was a 1,000-receiver a year ago but he felt he needed a new situation.
He spoke about it with reporters in training camp.
“It was just something for my career that I had to do,” he said. “I want to feel like I’m part of something to win.
“At the Ravens, I just felt like sometimes they didn’t need me.”
He felt like, whether he was on the field or not, they were just going to keep winning games.
He comes to a receiver-centric offense in a wide-open scheme. The offense is similar to what he ran at Oklahoma.
If the Cardinals are going to have success, they will need Brown to be productive, especially for the first part of the season.
It appears he will get exactly what he is seeking.
