A Marks and Spencer store in East Kilbride is set to close for good next week after 50 years of business, leaving campaigners who battled to keep the location open feeling disappointed.
The store had been fighting against closure for five years - but is now shutting down for good in the coming days.
The historic outlet in the East Kilbride Shopping Centre will close following an agreement eventually being reached over its lease.
At the peak of production, 67 employees were working at the one time at the supermarket in the shopping centre.

Staff will be transferred to a “nearby store” the company said in a statement last night.
This news comes as the East Kilbride location had been noted for closure for over five years, since 2018 - but a campaign was started up by local residents and politicians to save the store.
Scott Munro, regional manager for Marks & Spencer, said: “We’re rotating our store estate to make sure we have the right stores to offer our customers a brilliant shopping experience.
"As part of this transformation, we announced our intention to close our East Kilbride Shopping Centre store some years ago and have been looking to agree a commercial agreement with our landlord.
“We’ve now reached a mutual commercial agreement and can confirm our store will close on February 25."
The manager continued: "All colleagues are being offered a transfer to a nearby store.
"Closing this store means we can invest in many of our other 94 stores across Scotland – including the renewal of our nearby East Kilbride Kingsgate foodhall where next month we’re unveiling a new fresh-market design and bigger in-store bakery.”
The much-loved store will be closing its shutters for the last time on Saturday, February 25 - so be quick if you want to visit.
