Marks and Spencer shoppers were divided after spotting a £65 shirt dress online, with some comparing it to their "nan's house coat".
High street icon M&S maintains its popularity among shoppers thanks to its wide range of on-trend fashion, homeware, accessories and more. Marks and Spencer, like many other retailers, optimises several Instagram profiles to keep shoppers up to date on all the newest stock they can expect to find in store and online.
The retailer also supports a number of 'M&S insiders', who operate their own Instagram pages to offer styling tips and outfit inspiration using all the latest Marks and Spencer trends. Recently, the brand caused a stir after sharing a photo of one of its insiders, visual merchandiser and digital creator Emma, sporting a green print dress by the brand Object.

The Object shirt dress comes in a retro-inspired paisley print with three quarter length sleeves and oversized collar with a lace trim. It costs £65 but isn't currently available on Marks and Spencer's website, though a variety of other Object dresses are.
Captioning the image, which was originally shared as part of a video by @marksandspencer_emmas, M&S penned: "The result of a statement collar meeting a retro-inspired print? This beautiful @object shirt dress that you need in your new-season wardrobe. @marksandspencer_emmas."
