As energy bills become more expensive by the the day, Marks and Spencer (M&S) has been praised by shoppers for its £6 gadget that can light up a room without using any electricity.
It comes after Primark released a similar £1.50 gadget, which went down a storm with shoppers. But true to form, M&S has gone one better with a Percy Pig version.
Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains group, Wilfred Jenkins shared a picture of a gorgeous Neon Percy Pig light, which costs £25, and a string of battery operated Percy Pig string lights, which are £6. The M&S fan wrote: "Percy Pig man strike again with this neon lights is £25."
The lights are currently part of M&S' £40 beauty advent calendar offer. Anyone who spends £30 will be able to purchase M&S' beauty advent calendar, which normally costs £300, for £40.
The advent calendar features a selection of 25 hand-picked, cult beauty products, including 7 full-size items, across bath and body, skincare, fragrance and make-up. You can get the £260 reduction by purchasing the lights as part of the offer.
The Neon light costs £25, and went on sale yesterday. M&S' description reads: "Bring some Percy Pig™ cheer to your home with this novelty neon light. It's got three holes in the top so it can be hung on the wall and is mains operated."
The £6 Percy Pig string light s have already proven popular with shoppers. They come with batteries included, which is a win in the current climate.
Because the string lights are battery operated, they'll light up a room without using any electricity. You will, of course, need to buy batteries, but these can be bought cheaply at shops like Poundland and Home Bargains, and they could prove a lot more economical than using your electricity.
M&S' Percy Pig string lights have already racked up plenty of five-star reviews online. One five-star reviewer wrote: " Love these Percy Pig lights, they are great for any time of year and have many uses."
Another said: "These lights are brilliant, really cute piggies, and they come with batteries in the box!" A third wrote: "Love these little Percy lights!!! They are so cute I've got 2 sets of them. They will be great in my caravan when on holiday. Percy lights are not just for Christmas!!!"
A fourth reviewer said: "Brought these to hang on my bed on the headboard i got them in the sale and ive used them for about 3 weeks and ive not had to change the batteries yet." A fifth raved: "For all percy pigs fans these lights are delightful. They are bright and came with batteries provided."
