To its 258k Instagram followers, Marks and Spencer Food shared a video of how to create a breakfast bagel in the wake of fast food giant McDonald's axing its own breakfast bagel from its menu.
The bagel tutorial shows the coveted morning snack being made with sourdough bread, eggs, cheese and pork sausages.
Captioning the footage, M&S penned: "Did someone say BREAKFAST BAGEL?! Fear not - while there’s one that’s off the menu, you can still get your fix with this easy how-to! You’ll need:
- 1 M&S Sourdough Bagel, halved and toasted
- 2 cheese slices
- 1 egg
- 1 of your favourite sausages (we’re using Our Best Ever Pork Sausages!)
"Start by de-skinning the sausage and pressing the meat into a round patty, then pan-frying until brown. Next, beat the egg, pour into a hot pan, and cook until it’s a thin omelette. Finally, assemble your patty, egg and cheese on top of your bagel - then DEVOUR! This is not just a breakfast bagel..."
The video proved popular on the hit social media platform, racking up more than 120k views, almost 4,000 likes and heaps of comments.
