British high-street store Marks & Spencer is arguably the king of hybrid treats. First we had the cronut, then came along the yumnut. And now the retailer has done it again with a brand new bakery treat: the Biscake.
The new bakery hybrid combines two British teatime classics - cake and biscuits - and might just be M&S's most controversial treat yet.
The Biscakes are available at the supermarket in three playfully-named flavours, including 'Choc Chip off the Old Block', ‘Cherry Cake-well' and ‘Lemon Meringue-a-tang'. It'll set you back £2.50 for a pack of two.

They are made with a crunchy biscuit base and fluffy, light and indulgent cupcake top. We can already tell they're going to taste delicious.
Natalie Tate, M&S Product Developer for cakes said: "It’s the age-old question. Cake or biccy with your cup of tea? This new and exclusive fusion to M&S, the Biscake, takes the stress of having to decide as you can now enjoy both together.
"The three delicious flavours are the ultimate treat – with the perfect balance of crumbly biscuit base and fluffy, sweet cupcake top. I absolutely love the Choc Chip off the Old Block which is topped with our very own delicious treat bag Milk Chocolate Cookie Dough Bites."
The Lemon Meringue-a-tang flavour pairs a crunchy biscuit base with zesty lemon sponge, lemon curd and lemon buttercream. Each is hand finished with a meringue.
While Choc Chip off the Old Block features a crumbly chocolate chip cookie base and rich chocolate sponge, topped with chocolate buttercream and milk chocolate cookie dough bites.
Lastly, Cherry Cake-Well offers a crunchy biscuit base with almond sponge, raspberry jam, buttercream and a glace cherry. Yum.
All of the Biscake flavours are available in M&S stores now - you can find out your nearest branch by using the store finder tool right here.
