With four per pack for £1.65, shoppers have been leaving some impressive reviews for the chocolatey product on the Ocado website. One shopper said: “These are so delicious! I popped mine in the oven for a few mins and it was the perfect combination of chewy bun and oozy chocolate. Will definitely be adding these to my next shop!”

Another added: “Everything that's wonderful about a buttered bun, but made of chocolate. Chocolatey, soft, moist, melt in the mouth, more chunks of real chocolate than a normal hot cross bun would have raisins. Wonderfully delicious, full of chocolate, takes an iron will to stop at one. Oh, and did I mention the chocolate? May it be hot cross bun season all year round.”

Shoppers took to M&S Instagram and tagged their friends in the comments to inform them of the chocolatey treat. The post received over 150 comments of chocolate lovers desperate to try the new flavour.

One shopper tagged their friend and commented: “It's that M&S hot cross bun time of year againnnnn!! Brb just going to buy my weight in baked goods…” Another added: “OMG!”

The hot cross buns are available to purchase in store online on Ocado.
