Marks and Spencer shoppers have been left divided over a linen suit that some have declared is "gorgeous" and "classy" while others say it's "dishevelled".
High street icon Marks and Spencer boasts millions of followers across multiple social media pages, where it shares frequent photos and footage showcasing its most recent food, fashion, accessories and homeware product launches. Recently, the company caused a divide after sharing an Instagram reel to its main account.
Many M&S staff members, known as "insiders", manage their own social media pages to help offer styling tips and outfit inspiration with new stock from the famed retailer. M&S shared the reel, which was originally created by digital creator and "insider" Emma - who boasts 21.2K Instagram followers of her own - to its 1.9 million followers.

In the footage, Emma is modelling M&S' Linen Blend Ruched Sleeve Blazer (£45) and its matching Linen Blend Wide Leg Trousers (£39.50). The suit, which costs £84.50 for both items, comes in an on-trend linen-blend fabric in a stylish neutral colour.
Captioning the video, the retailer penned: "Add a pop of [green heart] to brighten up your workwear look. We think it will definitely *suit* you".
The suit proved popular on the hit social media platform, racking up more than 92K views and over 1,000 comments - though shoppers were divided. They shared their thoughts in the comments section.
Shirley said: "Too creased & dishevelled", to which one shopper replied: "it’s linen, that’s what linen does". Shirley added: "still looks scruffy though", with a crying laughing face emoji.
Jo was impressed and said: "It’s lovely". Mary said: "Love it!" Jess concurred: "Lovvvvve this".
Isabelle commented: "This is gorgeous". Another shopper, also named Jo, started a bit of a back and forth with fellow shoppers: "Should have perhaps steamed/ironed the trousers?"
One shopper said: "linen does that! You iron them in the morning and as soon as you put them on they crease". Jo responded: "I know all that! What I meant was, in an advertising campaign, M&S should want to show them in their best light, as in crease free."
Another shopper said: "I love the [ad]! It’s real life! Linen creases". And another commented: "I like it too, she looks fab."
Annabelle added: "Classy, timeless and chic. Going to buy IMMEDIATELY."
