M&S has been praised by shoppers for an "amazing" gesture to staff members. The high street giant is now offering members of staff a free pack of period knickers, worth £20.
The incentive is available to all staff members, which means that some members of staff could even take the packs home for other family members that may need them. Shoppers now want other stores to follow suit.
Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, Louise Angharad Selo said: "All Marks and Spencer colleagues are entitled to a free pack of period pants from the selection in the screen shot. It's available through the colleague's sparks app and the offer is not limited to people who menstruate, so even if you don't need them, someone you know might do.

"I'm really looking forward to trying them and saving money on period products (though M&S do provide free period products to staff too) and being a bit more environmentally friendly."
People commented on the post to share their amazement at the initiative being offered, with many adding that other shops should also offer free period products, the MEN reports. Caroline Turner said: "This is amazing that M&S do this and I think more companies should offer free menstruation products or the government should on prescription. Well done Marks and Spencer."
Danni Ball said: "No, this is an amazing incentive. Kudos to M&S." Kim Walker said: "I've ordered mine. M&S are such a great company to work for."
Lyndsey Zara Johnston commented: "Omg what a wonderful company to do that for their staff." Margaret Mellor suggested: "If you don’t need them why not donate to a period poverty charity. This is what I have done."
Yasmin Feliha agreed: "Even if people with this offer don’t want to use them I’m sure you could donate them to a shelter or somewhere for people who may struggle to afford menstruation products."
Heather Hamilton added: "I'd implore all M&S staff to apply for these and if not planning on using them, donate them to their local food bank. Could be a lifesaver for someone woman."
