M&S LGBTQ Colin the Caterpillar cakes launched for Valentine's Day

Marks and Spencer's Collin and Connie the Caterpillar cakes are an undisputedly iconic and now miniature versions are available just in time for Valentine's Day.

The limited-edition version of the fan favourite is available just in time for the most romantic day of the year, and in true M&S style they have thought of everything to ensure nobody is excluded from enjoying the much-loved sweet treat.

The luxury retailer has been praised by the LGBT+ community for its decision to sell the Collin and Connie mini's in same-gender sets in a bid to be inclusive.

It is a huge step forward from last year when shoppers could only purchase Colin and Connie in a pack together - this year's Valentine's Day range enables consumers to purchase two of the same cakes in a two-pack for £10.

M&S recently made headlines for introducing optional pronoun name badges for staff.

And of course, the caterpillars have had a glow up to mark the day of love, the chocolate treats are decorated with milk chocolate hearts and heart-shaped sprinkles.

It seems the retailer has got all bases covered as back once again this year are inclusive Valentine's Day cards, with options for same-sex couples and also non-gender specific options too - it seems Marks and Spencer's has got everybody covered.

The special edition caterpillar cakes were announced on social media and it was well-received by the LGBT+ community who praised M&S for their inclusivity.

The post was liked 11,500 times and received a flurry of comments.
