Marks and Spencer launch Mother's Day Connie the Caterpillar and shoppers are 'obsessed'

If you're still looking for something to get Mum for her special day, you may want to head over to Marks and Spencer.

The chain is well-known for their incredible food - whether it's their vegan range, their bakery or their luxury snacks, there is something for everyone in the M&S food halls.

Mother's Day is just over a week away - and you've got until next Sunday (March 27).

It can be hard to know what to get people so why not keep it simple yet creative this year and go for Connie the Caterpillar as it appears she's had a makeover.

Having been recently launched in-stores an online this week (March 15), the chocolate delight is already a hit with fans thanks to their world famous Colin the Caterpillar cake.

M&S' iconic Connie the Caterpillar has undergone a heroic makeover to help you tell your mum she is your superhero this year.

The cake costs just £6. (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK)

According to online retailer Ocado, the cake serves five people and retails for £6.

In the description they say: "Our signature Connie the Caterpillar cake has had a makeover for Mother's Day. This caterpillar-shaped creamy chocolate sponge roll is filled with smooth chocolate buttercream and is covered in a milk chocolate shell.

"It has a decorative face and feet made of white chocolate and finished with an edible cake, to make Connie look like a superhero."

Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group one shopper shared with the near two million members that they had found the item and taht it had a makeover thanks to Mother's Day.

One shopper said: "Any excuse for caterpillar cake - look at this for mothers day!!" followed by a wink emoji.

Another added: "This will do me for Mother’s Day."

A third hinted: "In case you need an idea" as they tagged their kids.
