Marko Arnautovic’s agent has strongly hinted at the player’s desire to sign for Manchester United.
A £7.6million bid has been rejected by Bologna for the Austrian veteran, according to reports, as the Red Devils continue a scramble for striking talent in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The 33-year-old’s agent, Danijel Arnautovic, has spoken publicly on talks to allow the player to sign for an unnamed club - strongly thought to be United.
“It's true that there is an offer from a well-known club,” he told Austrian outlet Kurier.
“I'm in contact with Bologna to see if that [offer] can be realised.”
Arnautovic, formerly of West Ham and Shanghai Port, hit 15 goals in 2021-22 for the Italian team but his potential arrival at Old Trafford has caused consternation among fans and pundits alike.
Gary Neville was left speechless by the bid on Sky Sports, stating: “I’ve got a comment on everything in the world - apart from Manchester United signing Marko Arnautovic today! I’ve got nothing to say.”
