Marketing agency Voiceboxx looks to future with expansion and rebrand

Birmingham marketing agency Voiceboxx has outlined expansion plans which will see it add numerous businesses to its portfolio this year and double its team.

The Jewellery Quarter-based firm has also undergone a rebrand and is now known as VBX Group which has become the umbrella brand of several new divisions which currently include VBX Agency, VBX Events, VBX Contracts and NewCom.

VBX Agency is led by new managing director Emma Davies and will provide marketing services to B2B clients in the public and private sectors across the UK.

She joined the business in 2012 as a digital specialist, becoming the agency's digital director in 2016 and strategy director in 2018.

VBX Events, helmed by Ian Brown, will provide national and international event services such as venue finding, events management, production and content.

VBX Contracts, managed by Scott Bayliss, is a new commercial enterprise which provides interior drywall and fitouts for offices across the Midlands, with a view to expanding the service into the domestic market later this year.

Voiceboxx's former managing director James Hobday is now chief executive of VBX Group and will oversee each business as well as heading up NewCom - the group's new research service which provides data-driven insight into consumer habits.

Alongside the expansion, the company said it was planning to create up to 26 new jobs across the West Midlands within the next 12 months and is currently seeking additional investment opportunities to add to its portfolio.

Each business will remain based at the group's current head office but the company is planning to move operations to a new home in the future.

Mr Hobday said: "This expansion represents a momentous new era for the VBX Group. Since we first launched as Voiceboxx in 2011, we've weathered various economic storms including the fallout of the last recession and of course the pandemic.

"However, we've continued to grow at a steady pace and we're thrilled to be in a position to start expanding into new markets.

"By diversifying our business across multiple sectors, we aim to future proof VBX Group and our services for many years to come. It's such an exciting time to be based in the West Midlands.

"It was always a centre of manufacturing and industrial innovation but in recent years we've seen the Midlands become a hub for green energy and technology like robotics and automation.

"With our new group of businesses, we hope to be in a better position to support these industries as they rise to meet today's complex challenges."
