Mark Zuckerberg message to Facebook users over screenshot change

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has issued a warning to users of Messenger ahead of upcoming changes to the app.

A new series of updates to Facebook Messenger have been announced, including end-to-end encryption like on Whatsapp.

One of the new features includes friends being made aware if you try to screenshot a chat.

Mr Zuckerberg warned that users should take care if trying to take a screengrab of the chat while 'Disappearing Messages' are activated.

These are texts that vanish automatically and can be activated in your Messenger settings.

However, if you or a friend take a screenshot of a disappearing text chat, the other person will now be informed with a notification.

Mr Zuckerberg shared the latest update on his Facebook page, as he shared an example of the notification.

He wrote: "New update for end-to-end encrypted Messenger chats so you get a notification if someone screenshots a disappearing message.

"We're also adding GIFs, stickers, and reactions to encrypted chats too."

The feature is also used on the popular image sharing app Snapchat.
