Mark Wright has said his wife Michelle Keegan will “hopefully” return from filming in Australia to cheer him on through his first marathon.
The former TOWIE star has signed up for the London Marathon later this year in a bid to get his followers more active as part of Flora’s Get Towns Active campaign.
The 35-year-old signed up for the annual endurance test last year, but was forced to pull out due to an injury, he told Good Morning Britain hosts Ranvir Singh and Paul Brand during an appearance on the ITV show.
Host Ranvir – who herself has run a marathon – asked the former reality star if his wife would be cheering him on from the side-lines as he runs the London circuit this autumn.
Mark said: “My wife will hopefully be there to support me,” before he added of the former Coronation Street star: “She wouldn't do it. She would prefer to just watch.”
Michelle has been filming new drama Ten Pound Poms Down Under and Mark recently returned from a stint visiting her in Australia.
He said on Good Morning Britain of the trip: “Australia was amazing. They have a healthy way of life there.”
Talking of his training, he added: “It's their winter there so it was cooler. I only got back the other day but I went for my first run last night.”
Mark Wright paid a loving tribute to wife Michelle Keegan on their seventh wedding anniversary earlier this year after the couple married in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk in 2015.
Mark took to Instagram to share an old photo of their big day, which he captioned: "7 years of being your husband. It never gets old. Happy anniversary love you."
Famous faces were quick to respond with celebrities including presenter Denise Van Outen and actresses Brooke Vincent and Chanel Cresswell all wishing the duo well.
A fan, meanwhile, wrote: "A beautiful photo of a beautiful couple. Wishing you both a HAPPY wedding anniversary. Sending you both lots of love."
Actress Michelle, meanwhile, shared another of the couple's wedding photos, adding the caption: "24.5.2015 Happy Anniversary to my husband, my best friend and biggest supporter. Love you."
Again, celebrity pals sent their best wishes including Michelle's former Corrie co-star Sacha Parkinson and actresses Liz Fletcher and Chelsee Healey.
One of Michelle's fans wrote: "What a classy beautiful bride and dress. Happy anniversary. Your babies are going to be soooo damn cute."
