Mark Wright savagely replaced by Michelle Keegan’s ex fiancé on The Games after ITV snub

Mark Wright has been savagely replaced by Michelle Keegan ’s ex fiancé on The Games after his alleged ITV snub.

Bosses at ITV have signed up The Wanted singer Max George for the highly-anticipated show, which will see celebrities go head to head in a variety of sporting challenges.

According to The Sun, Max is the perfect replacement for former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark after he reportedly quit The Games by text after filming had began.

The Heart FM DJ exited the ITV show in a text message, and has subsequently been blacklisted by bosses.

Now, he’s been replaced on The Games by Max, who dated Mark’s wife Michelle Keegan for two years back in 2010.

“Max has been drafted in to replace Mark on the show and it’s caused a real stir,” a source told The Sun.

“It seems like it’s a clear message to Mark for leaving them in the lurch. His decision to walk out left a really bad taste in their mouth,” they added.

Max and Michelle began dating in 2010, and the singer popped the question in 2011, but the couple sadly split just one year later.

The singer, who also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, is currently in a relationship with Stacey Giggs.

Filming was underway on The Games, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, when Mark reportedly walked out earlier this month.

Mirror Online has approached Mark’s rep for comment.

Mark only signed up for The Games earlier this year, and he was in Manchester to film his fitness assessment for the show, alongside his fellow contestants, including former Love Island star Wes Nelson and Coronation Street ’s Colson Smith.

His decision to quit allegedly angered ITV bosses, as Mark was captured on screen during the assessments which will later feature in the show.

Max is now preparing to start filming, as ITV bosses reportedly shunned Mark from any future projects at the broadcaster.

The ex-reality star is set to appear on the upcoming charity match Soccer Aid, after an insider claimed Mark’s “name is mud at ITV at the moment”.

The Games is set to air on ITV later this year.
