Mark Wright reveals other strict rule in new home after forbidding shoes in his mansion

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan have moved into their plush Essex mega mansion.

After months of work on the £3.5 million plush pad, which the pair completely renovated, the finishing touches have are being put in to make the mansion a home for the married couple.

It's been a long time coming as the pair have been working on the pad for two years.

Mark, 35, recently shared a video showing the carpet he and Michelle had chosen being installed in their newly refurbished property.

However, the clip caught some attention as he revealed he and Michelle, 35, have banned shoes in their pad after opting for a pure white carpets.

In the footage, Mark spoke from behind the camera as he showed the carpet being rolled out: "The colour is revealed. This is why, if you come to this house, you will never be wearing shoes."

"Or socks," he added. "You will be washing your feet. Basically pure white with a little hint of cream."

Now, in an exclusive interview with the Mirror in collaboration with California Almonds, Mark has revealed it isn't just shoes that are banned in his home.

Stating the rules, Mark said: "Just don't drink red wine on my sofa and don't wear shoes."

After spending months renovating the plush property both Mark and Michelle are excited to be finally able to call their pad "home".

When asked what he was most looking forward to about the move, he said: "Just having a home again to be honest.

"We sold our other house nearly a year and three months ago. So just having having that house and that base again, can't wait."

And when asked what Michelle was most looking forward to, she revealed: "I think the same really. It's been a long time coming.

"We've built it to our dream and we're just excited.

"It's like anytime when anyone moves into a house you're excited aren't you? It's just exciting."

It comes as Mark shared a glimpse inside the pad and admitted the process of creating his dream home as been "mentally and physically tough at times".

He shared a stunning photo of the outside of the pad and touched on the huge progress made to the sprawling home, while detailing he was hit by the pressure of creating it from the ground up.

Mark penned: "A process that has been extremely mentally and physically tough at times but one that is so rewarding."

Mark was speaking in collaboration with California Almonds. During the chat said: "It's something that I've always snacked on since I was probably 22 or 23 when I started doing the gym and I had my first trainer.

"I always used to find that with the diet I have and what I eat in terms of in between meals, I would sometimes feel a lack of energy. So this trainer told me that handful of almonds is great and ever since then I've always done it.

"And I'm feeling a lot of energy, I have a handful of almonds and feel it always works for me."

It comes after Mark recently admitted he was constantly “nervous” about leaving the house to go for a run over fears he will injure himself.

He admitted he didn't want to ruin another marathon (Instagram)

He was due to take to the streets for the London Marathon back in 2021, but he suffered a tear in his calf muscle and was forced to pull out.

However, he will be back again for the marathon in October this year and plans to exceed his own expectations.

“At the time, it was devastating,” he told The Mirror of his marathon-ending injury. “I had done quite a bit of training and I was really looking forward to it and I went on the day and saw the atmosphere."

However, he insists there were positives to what happened and it has only spurred him on even more now.

"Actually now I'm pleased that I did because I would never have been able to run at the pace I want to run ay because of my injury and I would have been in pain and I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much," he added.

"So now I'm doing it again and getting to enjoy it, touch wood. I stay injury free. I'm happy now, but at the time it was upsetting."

And Mark admits he is incredibly "nervous" every day when he goes out for a run, as he worries about injuring himself and being forced to quit the marathon for a second year running.

He added: "I am nervous about getting injured every time I go out for a run or when I do a session. I'm nervous that I'm going to get injured.

“I've just got to keep my fingers crossed, keep working hard, keep the recovery, the ice baths etc.”
