Mark Wright hits back after ITV Love Island's Luca Bish claims he's 'punching' with Michelle Keegan

The final week of Love Island is now in full swing as one loved-up couple will soon be crowned the winner of series eight. After eight long weeks of romance, fallouts, friendships and bombshells, only six couples now remain in the running to bag the £50,000 cash prize.

Hoping to get to the final, which is set to take place on Monday, August 1, are Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, Paige Thorne and Adam Collard, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page and Danica Taylor and Jamie Allen.

But despite the ITV dating show drawing to a close next week, Monday night's episode wasn't short of drama after Luca Bish sparked a heated debate. It was during this intense discussion that Love Island fans were shocked to hear an unlikely celebrity name-dropped as the Islanders discussed couples who were 'punching'.

Whilst gazing at his reflection in the kitchen with couple Adam and Paige, fishmonger Luca randomly asked: "Oi Adam, would you say Mark Wright is really good looking?".

But as Adam responded "I think he's pretty good looking yeah," Luca quickly jumped in and said: "I don't think he's all that."

Adam then rushed to compliment Mark's wife and former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, saying: "But Michelle Keegan is a lot better," as Paige also agreed: "Yeah she's unreal."

Luca then added further salt to the wound as he said Mark is "punching big time."

But as Paige tried to assure Luca that punching with your partner is a 'good thing', it then sparked a debate about who was the better half of Luca and Gemma.

As Paige told Luca "You're punching" with Gemma, he quickly snapped, "No I f***ing am not." Paige then said: "You should be proud to say you are punching as Gemma is unreal."

But the row quickly got more intense as Paige walked off saying she's 'bored of this' and called the 23-year-old from Brighton 'naïve'.

Walking over to Michael Owen's daughter Gemma, the Welsh paramedic then told her "I'm fully arguing with your boyfriend right now. He reckons he's not punching with you."

Viewers were quick to react to Mark Wright being insulted during the episode, which led the former Only Way Is Essex star to appear 'baffled' by the remark.

The TV personality had just woken up in Sydney when he saw the commotion on Twitter.

Posting a confused-looking selfie, @MarkWright_ wrote: "8:30am in Sydney…. minding my own business (literally sleeping) Waking up like…. What did I do? #luca."

This comes week after Luca claimed that his 'dream woman' would be "Maura Higgins, Michelle Keegan and Gemma Collins merged into one," therefore fans think the fishmonger is rather jealous of Mark.

@LolaloLora said: "Strangest thing from that episode is Luca trying to convince himself that Mark Wright isn’t good looking. Not the first time Luca has mentioned Michelle Keegan either. Clearly someone is a little obsessed with her and jelly of her husband."

@AmyAppleby9 wrote: "Luca is punching so far above his weight is he okay? Also Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan are on each other’s level they married well he’s deluded."

@RebeccaNellie65 added: "Luca is jealous of Mark Wright too."
