Mark Wahlberg has ditched his noticeable abs in dramatic fashion as he prepares to film his new role.
The 49-year-old actor took to Instagram on Monday to showcase his new look and had fans in a spin over the huge transformation.
The Oscar-nominated star has piled on 20 pounds in just three weeks and posted a side-by-side snap of his before and after.
He captioned the post "From this 3 weeks ago, to this, now. Thanks to @chef_lawrence_d cooking."
The images were in stark contrast, with the before pic showing his muscular physique after shooting the boxing scenes for the film.
The 'after' image saw him lying on the bed looking a lot more bloated.
Fans flocked to the post to share their opinion and his wife Rhea didn't seem to mind the change at all.
She commented: "And it looks just as hot in person baby [heart emoji]," she commented.
And the Daddy's Home star isn't finished just yet. Just a day earlier he admitted that he had another 20 pounds to gain for his new role.
As well as the extra weight, Mark was rocking a new moustache for his role in the movie called Stu.
The actor described the faith-based movie, which will be directed by Rosalind Ross, to Jimmy Kimmel last month.
He said: "I'm playing a guy who was a fighter—he was many things.
"He was a fighter, he moved to LA to become an actor, he fell in love with a girl, he had an accident, he had an outer-body spiritual experience, he decided to become a priest.
"He died of a rare disease, IBM, but he had a big impact on a lot of people in a very short amount of time."
The stages of the body transformation will be shown in the movie with the actor's character falling out of shape later in his life.
Mark continued: "After we do the boxing scenes, I get to put on as much weight as possible over the course of the film"
He revealed he had challenged himself to put on at least 30 pounds in six weeks.
