Mark Ogren reiterates Dundee United commitment amid fan fury as he confirms Liam Fox and Tony Asghar going nowhere

Dundee United chairman Mark Ogren says he understands the frustrations of supporters as they fear heading into the Scottish Championship - although he has 'no plans' to make any immediate changes.

The Tangerines qualified for the Europa Conference League qualifiers after a top six finish in the Scottish Premiership last season under Tam Courts, but replacement Jack Ross was sacked just a few months into the season after thrashings like a 9-0 loss to Celtic. Liam Fox has done little to alleviate fears with the club bottom of the league and fans have had banners demanding sporting director Tony Asghar's departure.

Ogren has faced backlash from fans too amid the faults this season, but in an interview with club media, he insisted nobody is going anywhere for the time being despite not being happy about where they're at, stating that 'he hopes for the best' for the current season. The American said: "This trip over has been a little more difficult - every time I come over I don't expect it to be a love fest, and this one hasn't been!

"Most of our fans and supporters are very supportive of what we have going on. Obviously there is some concern, and we have had a fairly large group of fans that have offered constructive criticism of what is happening at the club.

"By all means I not mind hearing it, but by and large it's been good, positive interaction with the fans. The long term strategy we are still on.

"We are bang on that strategy, but there are going to be ups and downs. Last year quite frankly we exceeded our expectations, and certainly this season has been a massive disappointment coming off of last season.

"I know our fans are disappointed, we are disappointed, but we are determined to put some wins together and start moving up the table, doing whatever we have to as a group. We all have to come together and figure this thing out.

"We have been asked 'are we going to make any changes within the club?' No, I have no plans to make immediate changes at this point, we need to come together.

"It would be easier to stick our head in the sand and hope your problems go away, but we are going to fight our way through it. Obviously I hope for the best for this year, but there are some thing that are just completely out of our control.

"People continue to ask me 'are you committed to the club?'. Absolutely, I have put a lot of money into this club.

"Wherever we do end up, we are just going to address it and we are going to move on. It's that passion that drew us to the club to begin with, you can see why people are disappointed and mad about the current situation, I absolutely get that."
