Mark O'Hara eviscerates the Celtic post split fixture narrative as 2 factors named that make St Mirren top six outlier

Captain Mark O'Hara has confessed there has been "gripes" from St Mirren over the post split fixture list after a historic top six achievement.

The Buddies will take on Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibernian in the final run-in after achieving a top half Premiership finish - something that has not been achieved by the Paisley side in almost 40 years. The club now have the chance to achieve European football with the club only trailing Hearts by four points.

However, St Mirren have joined a growing number of clubs in raising concerns over the fixture list to round off the campaign - with Ange Postecoglou admitting his frustration that Celtic will not have a home game until the have played at Tynecastle and faced another derby showdown with Hearts. Skipper O'Hara has vented on missing out on a game picked up by TV after the historic achievement - and also on being handed an additional trip to Pittordrie this term.

Asked if there had been any "gripes" like Celtic had with the fixture list on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "There has been. Obviously we were due to play Aberdeen at home. We have played them away twice this season and we are going up there on a Wednesday night.

"We have not got a game on Sky as well, I think we are the only team that doesn't have a game on Sky. So it is disappointing when you have to go up Aberdeen on the Wednesday night."

Pundit and former Hoops' star Mark Wilson chimed in on the lack of televised fixture: "For St Mirren that is a much bigger deal than it is to Celtic going away to Tynecastle and Ibrox in the first two games. That is unfair, you have got to say it's unfair."
