Mark O'Hara agrees St Mirren pre-contract as Motherwell midfielder lines up Stephen Robinson reunion

St Mirren have agreed a pre-contract to sign Mark O’Hara from Motherwell.

Buddies boss Stephen Robinson has raided his old club for his former midfielder.

The 26-year-old will move to Paisley on a two year contract in the summer.

Robinson took O’Hara to Fir Park on-loan from Peterborough and then on a permanent deal in June 2020.

The midfielder has decided he wants to play for Robinson again and that was a major factor in him making the switch to Paisley.

O’Hara will become Robinson's first signing since he replaced Jim Goodwin last month.

Ironically, Goodwin actually tried to bring O’Hara to St Mirren previously but he decided to make a move to Motherwell instead two years ago.

O’Hara, who has also played for Kilmarnock and Dundee, is the latest Motherwell player to sign a pre-contract elsewhere.

Defender Ricky Lamie has already signed a similar deal with Dundee, while Tony Watt signed a pre-contract with Dundee United, although he was eventually sold in the January window.
