Mark Hudson insists he has blocked out the noise regarding the permanent Cardiff City manager post and spoke with owner Vincent Tan about addressing the Bluebirds' immediate future.
Hudson is still the bookmakers' favourite to take the Cardiff job full time. His first game as caretaker boss saw City come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
And on Monday, ahead of the game with Blackburn Rovers, he once again reiterated his pride at how his team played.

"Just a bit, yeah! Every minute. The build-up, the game and I was proud of how they played. They were together and connected in everything they did. I would have liked to have had a goal before that," he said.
"To see the team going until the last minute is something to be proud of."
Cardiff fans are still a little in the dark over the position and what happens next, whether the club are actively looking for replacements or whether Hudson will be given a decent crack at getting the gig on a full-time basis.
Hudson spoke with Tan after the Burnley draw, but there was no chat over the longer-term future of the club.
"I spoke to the owner," he added.
"Full focus is on the next game. It was a brief conversation to check in on the game. Then go through the next game, what we are going to do, then focus on Blackburn.
"It was a good point, everyone knew that against a really good team. That is where we are at. We know we have a tough test Tuesday night. We need to be as compact as possible."
Every fan will have their own view and opinion on who should be in the hot seat permanently. A number of names have been thrown about in recent weeks, few with any real substance.
But such is the way when a manager gets sacked, the noise becomes amplified and names come flooding in thick and fast. Hudson, though, said he has been "too busy" to listen to any external noise.
"I haven’t seen any names, I haven’t looked at any of it. I am too busy!" he said.
"I am going to focus purely on game to game and I’ve told the team that. Long term is not something I’m looking at. Because the games are coming so thick and fast.
"I’ve been given the go ahead to go and bring another coach in and that needs to be right. As in the team, we are focused purely on Blackburn and then we will go to Wigan."
The managerial casualties are really piling up thick and fast now.
Just minutes before Hudson's Monday morning press conference, Middlesbrough wielded the axe on Chris Wilder, with Boro languishing two points below Cardiff at the bottom end of the table.
Hudson knows the perils of entering into management, but was still seemingly surprised by the decision, saying: "Wow. If I’m honest. When you retire and go into coaching you are fully aware of how tough an environment it is.
"There are not many managers who stay at one club for many years. You’ve got to do as well as you can, stick to your principles and standards and what will be will be. I’m gutted for Chris to lose his job. Bruno Lage went (from Wolves) yesterday as well. It’s volatile, we know that. Anyone who comes into it is fully aware of that situation."
He will be in the dugout as caretaker boss for the second time on Tuesday, when City welcome Blackburn Rovers to Cardiff City Stadium. Kick-off is at 8pm.
