Marino residents are promoting road safety through an upcoming community initiative.
Local group 'Go Slow in Marino' are hosting their annual Family Fun Cycle later this month and anyone is welcome to take part. The group explained that ongoing road works in nearby Fairview have increased traffic volume in the area, leading to concerns over road safety.
The annual event is supported by Dublin City Council and coincides with Bike Week. The group itself consists of parents who are worried about their children's welfare as speeding unfolds on Marino roads.

Marian Kelly from Go Slow in Marino said: "The volume and speed of rat running through Marino is scary. This is our way of taking back the streets and we want a long term traffic plan for Marino."
The construction of a cycle route linking Clontarf to the city centre has sealed off traffic through parts of Fairview. Cars are currently prohibited from driving between the North Strand Road from Fairview to the Five Lamps until early 2024.
The cycling event will take place on May 21 at 3pm. Participants will meet at St Aidan's Park before cycling around the streets of Marino to promote road safety.
Further information is available on the community group's Facebook page.
