Central Coast midfielder Josh Nisbet is refusing to get drawn into speculation about a potential Socceroos call-up, despite his sparkling form for the Mariners in the A-League Men.

Nisbet has been in fine touch this season, topping the competition for chances created (36) and registering six assists this campaign.

The 24-year-old was named player of the month for January as a reward for his influential role in the Mariners' climb up to second on the ALM table.

But Nisbet, who is aiming to extend the club's unbeaten streak to 13 games against Sydney FC at home on Saturday, is loathed to talk himself up.

"It think it just coincides with the team's performance, we're all doing well," Nisbet said, when asked about the praise his form has been receiving.

"I'm just having fun and not really thinking about it too much."

Uncapped Nisbet last represented the Olyroos in 2022 but has yet to win a senior call-up with World Cup qualifiers against Lebanon scheduled for next month.

Nisbet is happy to fly under the radar as the Mariners chase their first back-to-back wins against the Sky Blues at Gosford since 2014.

"We're confident, but we know they're a quality side so we've got to make sure we are ready," Nisbet said.

"It's always a great game between Sydney and especially at Central Coast - it's going to be a belter."

Mariners coach Mark Jackson is hoping the club can continue their strong home form, currently rhe best in the league.

"I hope they do, because it's always good to have our fans behind us and create that atmosphere for when the opposition come to our grounds," Jackson said.

"They play a certain way where they can be dangerous, so collectively as a team they can be a threat, we know that.

"But we know if we can be consistent and play our game and execute, we know that team is going to be up for a game against us."
