Marijan Cabraja sends Hibs message to Lee Johnson as he receives transfer advice from ex-Hibee

Marijan Cabraja says he's fit and ready to go for Hibs today, July 30, if needed - as he reveals Adam Bogdan has been on hand to provide some Edinburgh tips.

The former Easter Road goalkeeper has been in touch with his former Ferencvaros teammate after he sealed a move to Hibs from Dinamo Zagreb earlier this month. Cabraja has had his work permit sorted in time for today's Premiership opener away at St Johnstone and insists he is ready to play straight away for boss Lee Johnson. Bogdan has helped sell him on the transfer but admits his mind was already made up before that chat.

He said: “I’m excited and can’t wait to start the season. I’m completely fit so I’m ready if the coach picks me. It’s a new opportunity for me, a new challenge. I was excited when I heard Hibernian wanted me – I didn’t have to think too much about it.

"Me and Adam were in touch about it. Adam helped me a lot in explaining how things are in Scotland and so on. He told me all the good things about the club and about the city.

"He said I’d feel good here and find it like another family. At the beginning it has been like that. I will do my best for the Hibs fans.

"Hopefully they will see some good defending from me and some good crosses. It helped me a lot playing for clubs like Dinamo Zagreb and Ferencvaros because – like here – I could feel a winning mentality."
