Lanarkshire residents are being asked to host a summer tea party to help raise funds for end-of-life charity Marie Curie to help their work across the county.
Supporters are asked to host a tea party during June or July, with all donations from those attending funding vital care and support for those living with terminal illness and their families.
Donations will go to the charity’s community nursing service, its information and support services including a free and confidential phone line and its hospices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Angela McCormack, the charity’s Lanarkshire community fundraiser, said: “Hosting a blooming great tea party is easy.
“Whether you want to bake up a storm at home or pop to the shops for tasty treats, you’ll be helping support people in your local area living with a terminal illness – just don’t forget to price your slice.”
Recipes and and downloadable materials are available online and more information is also available by emailing angela.mccormack@mariecurie.org.uk.
Marie Curie’s support line, for anyone struggling with grief or needing information and support about any aspect of terminal illness, can be reached on 0800 090 2309, and further help is available at mariecurie.org.uk/support.
