Marie-Ange Luciani wins Toscan du Plantier Award for Anatomy of a Fall film

Marie-Ange Luciani won the Toscan du Plantier Award at the Cesar Academie ceremony.

In a prestigious ceremony hosted by the Cesar Academie in Paris, Marie-Ange Luciani was honored with the coveted Toscan du Plantier Award for her outstanding work in film production. This esteemed accolade is given to recognize the year's best producer and is voted upon by a panel of 1,717 members, including talented artists and crew members who have previously been nominated at the Cesar Awards, as well as the esteemed governing body members of the Cesar Academie.

Luciani, who is best known for producing Justine Triet's Oscar-nominated film 'Anatomy of a Fall' alongside David Thion, has continually made a name for herself in the industry. With a portfolio that includes acclaimed projects such as Robin Campillo's Cannes prizewinning 'BPM (Beats Per Minute)' and a range of movies directed by Laurent Cantet, Claire Burger, and Ursula Meier under her banner Les Films de Pierre, Luciani has exhibited a remarkable ability to curate a diverse and impactful filmography.

Currently, Luciani is working on highly anticipated films by Campillo and Mona Chokri. The anticipation for these upcoming projects is heightened by her recent attendance at the Berlin Film Festival, where she premiered Burger's latest film, 'Langue etrangere,' which competed in the festival's prestigious selection.

The distinguished ceremony honoring Luciani's achievement was graced by the presence of France's new culture minister, Rachida Dati, as well as Véronique Cayla, the president of the Cesar Academie. Additionally, Ariane Toscan du Plantier, an elected member of the Cesar board after whom the award is named, was also in attendance.

Although Luciani couldn't personally accept the award as she was in Los Angeles with Triet, Antoine Reinartz, who stars in 'Anatomy of a Fall' and is nominated for a Cesar Award for his compelling performance as a zealous prosecutor, dutifully represented her at the ceremony.

Triet's film, 'Anatomy of a Fall,' has been receiving widespread recognition, securing a remarkable five Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Sandra Hüller. The film has also garnered seven BAFTA nominations and a stunning 11 Cesar Award nominations. Hüller, an accomplished German actor, also stars in another Best Picture contender, 'The Zone of Interest.'

The gripping plot of 'Anatomy of a Fall' revolves around a novelist, portrayed by Hüller, who finds herself on trial after her husband's mysterious death at their isolated chalet. The film's success was recently acknowledged with multiple wins at the Lumieres prizes in France, including Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Actress.

Marie-Ange Luciani's remarkable talent and dedication to producing exceptional films have rightfully earned her the prestigious Toscan du Plantier Award. With an exciting lineup of projects and a reputation for collaborating with some of the industry's brightest talents, Luciani's future in the world of film production looks nothing short of promising.
