First, Emerald Fennell blessed us with an angel wing-wearing Jacob Elordi in Saltburn, now, the talented filmmaker is set to give us more of the Aussie heartthrob in her new film, and he’ll be starring opposite Margot Robbie, no less.
Give her all the awards now, we say.
An adaptation of the classic Emily Brontë romance novel, Wuthering Heights, the film is also being produced by Margot’s production company, LuckyChap. Emerald first teased the film on her socials with a a graphic that read, “Be with me always – Take any form – Drive me mad,” which is a line from the novel.
This will be the third film power duo, Emerald and Margot, will create together, having produced the aforementioned hit Saltburn as well as Promising Young Women.
Jacob and Margot will be playing the main love interests of the film, Heathcliff and Catherine, and we’re absolutely swooning at the thought.

What Is The Plot Of Wuthering Heights Film?
Considered one of the great literary novels of our time, Wuthering Heights tells the story of the Earnshaw and the Linton families, particularly the tumultuous relationship they have with the Earnshaw’s foster son, Heathcliff.
An outsider and antihero, Heathcliff makes it his life’s mission to seek revenge on the people who kept him away from his one true love, Cathrine.
Whether Emerald’s adaptation will remain true to its literary counterpart remains to be seen, stay tuned.
When Will Wuthering Heights Be Released?
A release date for Wuthering Heights has been confirmed for February 14, Valentine’s Day, of 2026. Per Deadline, the film is currently in pre-production with Emerald set to write, direct and produce the film. It is expected filming will begin with Jacob and new mum, Margot, in the UK in 2025.
Who Is Cast In The New Wuthering Heights Film?
So far, it’s just our two leads, Heathcliff and Catherine who have been confirmed to star in the Wuthering Heights adaptation, played by Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie.
In the 1998 adaption of the film, we saw Succession fave Matthew McFadyen play Hareton, and while we can’t imagine he’d want to reprise a role he’s already explored, we do think he’d make a stunning addition to what will surely be a big-name cast. Check back here for updates as they drop.
