Marge Simpson seemed destined to be suspended in time as the put-upon housewife of 742 Evergreen Terrace, but TikTokkers have imagined a new destiny for her… in Britain.
MargeTheHun has been trending on Friday with fans of The Simpsons reimagining Julie Kavner’s character living her best life; whether it be partying on a beach holiday, getting a Costa coffee on her walk to work, or feeling inferior while watching Love Island.
More than one million have tuned into what is the most popular video so far, which shows Marge taking a Ryanair flight after getting frustrated with the daily grind and having a one-night stand with a sales rep she meets on the dancefloor.
The images have been computer generated and, while they are bereft of the distinctive Simpsons cartoon quality, they are packed with cultural references – such as Marge eating Lays crisps and drinking Fanta lemon while abroad.
“So glad I straightened my hair for the airport fit,” a glamorous Marge is supposed to say as she is snapped next to her friends – one of whom looks like an older Lisa. “Proseccy for brekky. Stansted was not ready for us.”
And TikTok regulars are loving Marge’s British transformation.
“This is us in Benidorm soon,” Victoria said.
“I read this in Scouser,” one commented, while another added, “This account gives me life.”
One said, more sadly, “Marge the Hun is having more fun than me…”
In other videos, Marge is seen putting up a Christmas tree, cleaning her house while wearing a classic tracksuit, and stopping at Greggs in a retail park. Can you get any more British?
The Marge of this parallel universe goes big on gold jewellery and does her shopping at Aldi. “Had to be strong to avoid the middle aisle,” she states, “But I’ll come back another day for a good mooch.”

Perhaps the closest the real Marge Simpson gets to her TikTok self is an episode where she rides her trolley and practises becoming a policewoman. There is another, later, episode where the family visit London but, sadly for Marge, she is forced to pick up the pieces when Homer gets into trouble.
TikTok Marge appears to be free of the baggage of a needy husband and three children. But she does seem to dislike her job and is ground down by the British rainy weather, which feels quite realistic.

Sadly, MargetheHun may have appeared too late to make it to the best of TikTok list for 2023, which includes Wes Anderson rip-offs and the Roman Empire.
