Marcus Rashford has hit back at suggestions Manchester United gave up during their humiliating defeat to Liverpool.
The Reds claimed a 7-0 victory over their bitter rivals in the Premier League on Sunday. The win at Anfield was the biggest in Liverpool’s history against Man United.
Jurgen Klopp’s side moved up to fifth place in the league table with the memorable success. They are now three points adrift of the top four with a game in hand on fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

After the game, Sky Sports pundits Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher got into a heated debate with Gary Neville over the result. While Liverpool have been praised for their performance, there was also criticism of the way United performed.
But Rashford has hit back at suggestions that he and team-mates gave up in the second half at Anfield. The hosts were 1-0 up going into the interval before scoring six more times without reply after the break to secure the emphatic win.
"We didn't give up - that is nonsense,” said Rashford, in a press conference on Wednesday. “We were unorganised and communication was bad.
“It comes down to the fact I believe everyone was trying to get back into the game that much, we came away from the principles in and out of possession. I felt the forwards were trying to press, just the forward unit, and were disconnected from the midfield.
“We were talking but weren't in agreement on what to do. The only thing we can do is learn from it and move on.”

Rashford added: "Losing against Liverpool is enough. The scoreline doesn't matter when you lose a game against Liverpool or any other rivals, it cuts deep, it's not nice.
“It's never a nice feeling but for me, I always remember how many games we've won against them. It's football and why everyone loves the game.
“It's disappointing but we can't dwell on it and look back. We're in a position where we're still fighting on all fronts and we have a lot of games still to play. We want to put it right.”
Rashford was joined by United manager, Erik ten Hag, who was asked about the defeat to Liverpool, but did not go into too much detail of who he responded in the days afterwards.
"We have to set conclusions and we talked about [it],” said Ten Hag. “We have seen the game, we have to reset and bounce back."
When asked if the United players let him down, Ten Hag said: "No, we are in the same boat, we do it together. We win and lose together. We made a mess on Sunday and we have to deal with that."
